Trying something new!

 Hi everyone,

The coolest way to find inspiration in art is to start a different media of art. For example, if you are doing pottery as an artist. The new things to try would be painting. Some may say that is a crazy idea, but it works. Recently, I took a class in "Alcohol Resin" it was so awesome I loved it. After I took the class, I had so many ideas on what I wanted to do next. It finally got me out of my grove to finally do something fun and interesting. The cool thing about doing this is that you are meeting people. Specially during the pandemic it's hard to go outside and meet people. I loved how things turned out in terms of the resin tiles coasters I made. I loved it and would do it again!!!

I found this picture on the internet and it's exactly the type of work I did. But the design is completely different than mine. It's so much fun and it's interesting how to create this type of artwork.

Happy Art Day!

Hope this helps!!

Overwhelm Process

 Hi everyone,

I am here to explain the overwhelm stage that all artists get when we had a little too much inspiration. Well, I came across this past weekend and let me tell you it's not easy. I learned that in order to stop being overwhelmed is to take a break and possibly writing down all ideas before they float away. Let me tell you they do float away. Then taking some breaks really help the process of being overwhelmed. Maybe stepping away for a while is a great idea as well. But just know the artist process of being overwhelmed and artist block is real! What helps to is just outlining things instead of drawing it out and over thinking it. Being like this art piece is the same as the feeling of being overwhelmed or blocked.

Hope all you artists overcome these feeling

Happy Art Day!

Artist Blocks and Finding Inspiration

 Hi everyone,

Since COVID-19 I haven't been able to post in a while due to life happening. I know everyone out there has been effected by it. During my time in isolation I lost my ability to be inspired and to do art. I was so desperate for some kind of light to shine and finally say I am doing it. Unfortunately life takes you in different ways and I lost inspiration. Instead I did so many NFT's  and posted them for a while. But what I find is it's not really the same in terms of physically doing it. I mean art is to be inspiring and awesome meshing things together to create something unique. I didn't have that drive anymore and I lost myself in it. Then I finally said enough is enough I decided to be involved in art groups. Those of you who are artist and not in a art group. You need to branch out because it's awesome to have a group of people who can be there when you are in that slump. Now I am not saying to make friends but simply post once in a while and communicate. I highly recommend people to join "CHF Thriving Art Exchange Group" an awesome Facebook group. When I was in that slump I was told my another artist to join the group because they can help with some advice.

I did and I found my rhythm again and now I am going to show you what to do if you are in that slump.

Rule 1: JUST DO IT!-Stop the criticizing yourself not worth the trouble and perfectionism doesn't exist at this time. I learned that picking up a brush, pen whatever you use to do art and make something simple. I am going to show you the artwork I did that broke the slump.

I just went with the flow and cleared my mind and it worked.

Rule 2: Books are your friend- I learned if you go to a bookstore. NO NOT THE INTERNET! Go to a bookstore and look around! Look at art books, photography books, art supplies, journals everything! You will eventually be inspired by something. I look in the art magazine section all the time and I found this magazine that gave me awesome inspirational vibes. It's called "in her studio: spaces and stories of creative women." When I first read the magazine I said this is boring and not worth my time. But when I actually sat down and read it, it gave me so many ideas and inspiration. I highly recommend to follow some of these people in the magazine on Instagram.

Rule 3: Create Your Own Studio- One thing I learned that I learned from that magazine is if you do not have an inspirational place to do art. Then it's hard to become inspired. So I decided today to start doing that, and I gathered everything I could think of that's inspirational and went down my basement and cleaned up the area and now it's my own space. Still in progress but I am excited to finish it and do art.

Rule 4: GO OUTSIDE PEOPLE!-Stop scrolling through your social media sites and yes I am talking to you Insta and Pinterest people. Need to go outside and immerse yourself in your environment. My favorite environment is Chicago city. I love it because there is so much inspiration going on! People talking, art work, music, museums, park, color everywhere!

Rule 5: Listen to music-I find if you play music visualize what that looks like. I play "Bright Lights" and it reminds me of riding the waves with a surf board. It also reminds me of my trip to North Carolina Topsail.

Rule 6: Be involved in many different opportunities! Such as small art fairs, and events or you could just what everyone else is doing but do not plagiarize.

Rule 7: Take virtual tours of everything around the world! I love the virtual tour of the WNDR museum on YouTube.

Lastly please bring a pen and notebook everywhere you go trust me inspiration comes from everywhere immerse yourself.

Day 7 Traveling

Hi everyone,
For this hectic and chaos world we are living in today. I've decided to make this entry about all the places in this world that we would like to or have traveled. This creative inspiration could be about any place you want to include in your art. I will give you an example of what you could make (note: the example I give you, you can not use it otherwise it's plagarism).

I am going to use Tokyo Japan as my main concept for my art. I bring in subjects such as photographs from google.

Luxury Travel Guide to Tokyo    Beautiful Arty Tokyo Travel Poster Example - Venngage Poster Examples Tokyo Travel Diary 2017 | Stolen Inspiration New Zealand Travel Blog

Tokyo travel | Japan - Lonely Planet  Tokyo Travel Guide – Safe Nomad  Solo Travel in Japan: My Trip To Tokyo, Hakone & Kyoto — Allison ...

Now what I've done is compile all the images I found interesting about Japan. I am more attrative to bring colors and very vibrate images. Now it depends on you what you find but I use this concept helpful when I have art block. Now that I've found images I then observe them, such as the lettering on the first image attracted me. In my artwork I may choose to use that font and pick two words to describe what is Tokyo or whatever I feel that kicks in.

The city is also nice to add but for this art work I won't use it. Now the second picture I see a huge mountain, and lots of cherry blossums. I will end up using that concept with my art. The third picture I may put aside and use it for another art piece.

The fourth picture I may take the women wearing kimono dress and incorporate it. Lastly, the rest of the images are showing temples or emperor palace I may choose to use that in my artwork. Now the technique I used is only one technique that's out there you may choose to look at color only, details, texture whatever you decide. But remember to focus on what your main concept, and may need to research about it. It's up to you on how you go about it.

Start on picking a random place then work from there.

Well I hope this helps for those of you who are struggling artist blocks

See you all later. :)

Day 6 Finding that Spark

Hi everyone,
Hope you all are staying safe and enjoying this beauitful day! I am so stoke to show you another art inspiration that I found. So couple of years ago I was staring at a blank canvas and I said to myself. Why is it so hard to come up with something! I started to look at the paint and materials I had around me and I just took the colors that stood out to me the most and started to paint. Then I found glitter glue and some DIY texture powder that I made of my own. I created something new I name the art work, "You are like fireworks."Now I won't attach the image of the artwork on to this blog, because I like to keep my art work under wraps from those who like to plagiarize other people art. But have no fear, here is an example that you can be inspired.

Even though this is not a picture of artwork, I got inspired by this image on Pinterest. I love the brightness of color and the dark background. My favorite part of the image is the gold and the quote shown on the image. Now for your own art you could add a sparks, maybe a quote, or using the word trust since the girl I'm assuming is hold a sparkler outward. You can also use words like you make my day bright, brightness, you have a spark, etc.. I hope you find inspiration from this image, as well as I did. Remember don't limit yourself and don't plan your art work sometimes it's good to just do it.

If you would like more ideas or inspiration please feel free to email me. Or follow me on Instagram: hmstrmailmeow.

See you later! :)

Day 5 Finding your paradise through art

Did you ever a imagine a place where you found peace?

My peaceful place is Destin Florida!

My favorite part of Destin was being able to forget all my worries and about life. I loved the bridge I use to cross between the condo and the houses around the area. If you looked around it was paradise the water separated the houses, blue sky, tropical plants everywhere, and most of all it was quiet. The last part of Destin I enjoyed the most was going to the private beach and being able to sink my feet into the wet sand. At the same time I would turn around the sunset was right behind me.

Here is the picture I took when I turned around.

Now that I shared my favorite paradise, what's yours?
Your paradise could be your inspiration (use words)
Color to express the mood
If paradise for you is not in this world, then show it in your art.
You can use any types of media with this piece!
This inspiration is all about taking your time, and being relaxed when creating your art

Things to think about or include in your art:

Animals
Plants
Landscape
Symbols
Fantasy objects (some people paradise is being able to fly)
The people who you wish were there with you
Atmosphere
Weather
Home

There is so much that can be added, if you need more ideas feel free to email me.

See you all later :)

Day 4 Flowers/Plants

Hi everyone,
Today we going to be putting some vibrant colors and details in our artwork. How about doing flowers as a main concept.

Here is an example of what you could do, I added vibrant colors by using markers and draw with pen. It's simple, easy, and vibrant.

This an example of another image of flowers: Watercolor and Ink Flowers
Watercolor flowers. Painting by Ольга Пятенко | Saatchi Art

Here is another example of someone using flowers in their artwork. There are numerous possibilities, here are some excellent ways to get started:

Present an environmental issue using flowers
Have a black and white drawing of flowers
Use a paperang printer to print flowers and use it towards journaling

Have flowers be a part of a sunset sky
Put feeling (words) in your flower painting
Create and use photoshop with flowers as your concept
Abstract artwork
Use women's rights and incorporate flowers into it
Paint a garden of flowers like the kind in wizard of oz
Draw or paint women in flower dresses or as a flower

There is so much more that can be added, if you want more ideas feel free to email me!

See you all later! :)
